Annette
Karr of Wellness Plus was recently joined by Brent
Bowen, CMT who comes to Wellness Plus with a vast background in
clinical massage. His experience working with other doctors and
chiropractors has afforded Brent ample opportunity to gain expertise
in a wide range of therapeutic massage disciplines. In addition to
offering full body massage, Brent will be offering the
patients of SunBird Dental the opportunity to experience the
relaxation benefits of head, neck and arm massage prior to, or
following, their dental appointments. During a chair massage Brent
focuses on the muscles in the upper back, shoulders, neck, jaw, and
cranium, areas that typically become tense before or during dental
procedures.
Annette has always been an advocate of overcoming
obstacles and getting the most out of life. Her early years were
plagued with difficulties due to neurological problems. But her
father taught her that her identity was far greater than her illness
and encouraged her to follow her dreams. She has provided
therapeutic massage in hospital settings and now brings her years of
experience and expertise to the McPherson community. Her clients
seek her services for a variety of reasons. Some suffer from
debilitating illnesses, some are recovering from accidents or
working to control the affects of old injuries. Many clients want to
relief the physical affects of daily stress. Regardless of the goals
of their therapy, all Wellness Plus clients recognize the benefit of
massage; release of muscular tension and improved circulation and
lymphatic health.
Annette also offers frequent workshops and
discussion groups. Recent topics include "Reclaiming the Power
Within" and the Woman to Woman Series which addressed the
major concerns of women of the 21st century. Workshops in the Woman
to Woman Series included "Befriending Our Female Bodies", "Did
You Say What I Heard?" and "Time Out - For
Me!" All of the Wellness Plus workshops embrace the
same philosophy that Annette brings to her therapeutic massage
practice; to be truly healthy we must address the issues of the
body, the mind and the spirit.
